On this page, you'll find information on other studies that have been conducted about health information seeking behaviors online.
The Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS) is a government-funded survey that collects data about the American public's use of cancer related information. The HINTS program was created to track changes in the field of health communication. The data from this program helps researchers and the public to better understand health communication practices.
HINTS routinely collects data in over 20 areas of research that is available to the public. We looked at the parts of the survey that dealt with communications and internet use. Our researchers focused on questions that related to the way people search for health information online and are in the process of comparing it to our own data. Take a look at some of the information found through the HINTS survey.
